I’m Vicky Silverthorn, a professional organiser and founder of You Need A Vicky. We have over a decade’s experience and are one of the UK’s leading professional organising and decluttering businesses. From our base in London/Surrey, my team and I extend our services throughout Hampshire helping people to declutter, organise and regain control over their spaces. We work with the philosophy that a tidy, organised home, creates a clearer, happier mind, and we take pride in helping our clients achieve clarity within their homes.
Hampshire is home to nearly 2 million people, and although it may have the reputation of being an idyllic, rural place to live, I understand that life can get just as hectic here as anywhere else in the country! It doesn’t matter whether you’re living in Alton, Farnborough, Basingstoke or Hannington – keeping your home organised will always be a challenge when our lives are as busy as they are.
I sometimes compare our homes to giant boxes, slowly filling up over time. This can often happen so slowly that we don’t notice anything has changed until the sheer volume of our own belongings overwhelms us. In this way, our spaces, homes and minds can become easily cluttered. Getting an outside opinion can help offer a fresh look and perspective on our space as well as what items are worth keeping, and how best to store our belongings.
We’ve been working in Hampshire for over 10 years now. Helping people move home, organise their paperwork, have a general declutter and prepare for major life events such as the arrival of a new baby or starting a new job.

What is your decluttering process?
1. Make an Enquiry
You’re in complete control of the process – from your first consultation to the finishing touches of our work. It starts with you giving us a call, or sending us a message using the contact form on our website. You tell us about your problem space, or what you’d like us to help you achieve and then we’ll be able to advise you about the best course of action.
We’ll give you a complete rundown of how our days work, and what (if anything) is required of you. There’s no force here, just you telling us the problem, and our team figuring out a solution that works best for you.
2. Book a date in our diary
Once we understand what you’re looking for, and you’re completely comfortable with how we can help you achieve your goals, we’ll find a day in our diary where we can start work!
3. Your 7-Day Reminder
Time can get away from us all, that’s why we’ll give you a quick call a week before your allotted appointment, to give you a reminder about when you can expect us. Your Senior Organiser will also give you one last message the evening before our arrival, to make sure you’re ready for us.
4. Knock knock!
We’ll arrive at the pre-arranged time and will usually begin with an informal chat over a cup of tea. You’ll then show us around the areas that we’re working so that we can get an idea of what needs to be done.
5. We get started!
Once we’ve got to know each other, we’ll roll up our sleeves and get work decluttering your space! You decide how much you’d like to be involved in the process. You can choose to dip in and out, but if we’re decluttering then ideally you’ll be there as much as possible.
Letting go of some items can be hard, but we always promise to make this process smooth and efficient, so that we can make the most of our time. If we’re just organising a space then you won’t need to be present at all.

Vicky and her team can travel throughout Hampshire to declutter and organise homes. Areas within our service area include East Hampshire, Hart District, New Forest District, Test Valley District, Basingstoke and Deane, and Fareham.
Depending on what is required of us, we are sometimes able to travel further afield. Make sure to let us know where you’re based when sending us your message and we’ll see if we can reach you.
